Delhi
“Aap ka mazhab kya hai? (What’s your religion?)” asked the guy cleaning Jama Masjid’s floor as I seeked his permission to photograph him. I said “Kya farak padta hai? (What difference does it make?)”. He paused and replied “Haan, waise kalakar ki koi jaat nahin hoti (Yes! Artists don’t have any religion)” and then he continued cleaning, giving a silent nod to click.
The old city is the most unique part of Delhi. From the peace and serenity of Jama Masjid to the lip smacking food of Kareem’s (a restaurant still is run by the descendants of chefs who cooked for the Mughals). The collection of pictures is from the by lanes of Old Delhi, which for me is the asli (real) Delhi.
